Can customers see the price per meal?

Yes. Two separate switches show what a single meal costs: Menus → Settings → Price per meal puts it on the menu page's checkout bar, and Guided start → General adds it to the guided price banner.

Steps

1. Open Menus → Settings and turn on 'Show price per meal on the menu page'. Save.
2. For the guided start banner, open Guided start and turn on 'Show price per meal in the price banner'. Save.
3. Wait up to one minute for the storefront cache to refresh, then open your menu page.

Frequently asked questions

How is the price per meal calculated?

The plan price divided by the number of meals the plan includes — a $53.96 plan of 4 meals reads '$53.96 ($13.49 per meal)'. Subscribe-and-save is already applied, and while a welcome offer is running the figure describes the first box and is labelled as such.

Are my discount codes included in the figure?

No. Discount codes and Shopify automatic discounts are applied by Shopify at checkout, and the menu page cannot see them — so the customer's checkout total can be lower than the price shown here. Only subscribe-and-save from your selling plan and your welcome offer are included.

Why don't existing subscribers see it when they edit meals?

The price is shown to shoppers who are buying, not to subscribers changing an upcoming delivery. An existing subscription is charged the price stored on its contract — which can differ from today's plan price after a price change or a migration — so showing today's figure there could quote a price they are not being charged.

Should I turn it on?

It helps when your bigger plans cost less per meal, because it makes the saving explicit. If every plan costs the same per meal, it adds nothing and can invite comparison with cheaper single meals — which is why both switches are off until you turn them on.
