How do I offer one menu that never changes (evergreen)?
Evergreen mode shows every customer the same menu with no week selector — a fit for frozen meals, snack boxes, or any catalog where the selection is a product configuration rather than a weekly choice.
Steps
- Open Menus, then open the Templates tab and build one template with every product customers can pick from (see 'How do I set up rotating menus?' for template basics).
- Open the Evergreen tab and check Enable evergreen menu.
- Choose the menu template.
- Check Menu week starts on — the weekday each order period opens, which the order cutoff counts back from. It defaults to your delivery day (Settings > Delivery days); change it only if the menu week should open on a different weekday than you deliver. Your customer-facing delivery day itself stays in Settings > Delivery days.
- Click Save. The storefront now shows this one menu with no week tabs.
Frequently asked questions
Do customers still see delivery dates?
On the menu page, no — they just pick their meals. In the customer portal each upcoming order still shows its real delivery date, and customers can still change the selection, skip, or pause as usual.
What happens at renewal if the customer doesn't pick again?
The renewal automatically repeats the customer's last saved picks — that is built into evergreen mode, like a subscribed box that stays the same until changed. Customers who want something different edit the upcoming delivery in the customer portal any time before the order cutoff. If a product was removed from the template in the meantime, the renewal keeps the remaining picks and marks the order for your attention.
How do I change what is on the menu?
Edit the template (Menus > Templates). Changes appear on the storefront right away for new picks; selections customers already saved keep what was stored. If you remove a product that existing subscribers selected, their upcoming orders are topped up by auto-assign where enabled.
Can I run a one-off special menu for a single week?
Yes. Manual weekly menus take precedence on dates they exist, so add a Weekly Menu for that date and it will replace the evergreen menu for that period only.
How is this different from rotation?
Rotation cycles through several templates on a schedule; evergreen is one template for every period, with the week selector hidden. Turning evergreen on replaces an active rotation, and turning it off falls back to manual weekly menus.
Does the meal cap still apply?
Yes. Max meals selectable works exactly the same — customers who start picking must complete the selection before checkout, and selection counters show progress.
