Subscriptions

See who changed a subscription, and when

Each subscription page has an Activity card listing what happened to it, newest first: meal selections, skips and un-skips, cancellations, charges that succeeded or failed, and the welcome, upcoming charge and payment failed emails sent to the customer. Each entry says who did it (the customer, your store staff, or Servd), where (the customer portal, the customer's Shopify customer account, or Servd admin) and when, in your store's time zone. Use it to answer "I did choose my meals" or "I never cancelled" without guessing from the subscription's current state.

Steps

  1. Open Subscriptions and click the subscription.
  2. Scroll to the Activity card below the deliveries. It shows the 10 most recent entries; click Show more for older ones.
  3. Read each entry: what happened and for which delivery, then when and through which channel. If you set an arrival day under Settings > Week schedule (Boxes arrive), deliveries are named by the day the box arrives; otherwise by the menu week. Failed charges show in red with the reason Shopify gave.
  4. On a meal selection, click Show meals to see the dishes chosen, with their options and quantities.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the Activity card empty, or missing older actions?

Servd only started recording activity with this update, and there is no way to recover what happened before it. The note under the list says when recording began for that subscription. An action that is not listed may simply have happened before then.

Is everything recorded?

Not yet. Today it records meal selections and changes, skips and un-skips, cancellations made through Servd (customer portal, Shopify customer account or Servd admin), charges, and the welcome, upcoming charge and payment failed emails. Plan changes, address and delivery preference changes, meals chosen automatically when a customer didn't choose, refunds, imported subscriptions and cancellations made directly in Shopify admin are not recorded yet. So a missing entry does not prove something didn't happen. The note under the list repeats this.

How do I know an entry really was the customer?

Servd records an action as the customer's only when the customer was signed in: through their Shopify customer account or the secure link to their customer portal. Your own changes in Servd admin are recorded as store staff.

Does "email sent" mean the customer received it?

It means Servd handed the email to its mail service for that customer. It does not confirm it reached their inbox — it can still bounce or land in spam. An email you turned off in Settings is not sent and is not listed.

Can my customers see this history?

No. The Activity card is only in Servd admin.
