Why do local delivery orders show meals under Additional details?

Shopify does not allow local delivery orders to be edited, so the app cannot add each meal as its own line item. The meal selection is written to the order's Additional details instead, and the app's own packing slips are unaffected.

Steps

1. Open the order in Shopify admin.
2. Read the meal selection under Notes, in the Additional details section.
3. For a picking list grouped by delivery week, print packing slips from the app instead: open Orders and print from there.

Why are the meals not separate line items like on my other orders?

Shopify refuses any edit to a local delivery order, and adding each meal as a line item is an order edit. Shipping and pickup orders are editable, so on those the meals appear as line items. The selection itself is recorded either way.

That list is the selection made at checkout and is repeated on every renewal order, so it can include weeks that have already passed. Additional details always shows the meals for this order's delivery week.
