Can I edit the emails customers receive?

Yes. Open Customer emails to edit the welcome email a customer gets when they start a subscription — its subject and body — or turn it off. Merge tags insert the customer's name, your store details, and their personal manage-subscription link.

Steps

  1. Open Customer emails.
  2. Edit the Subject and Body. Basic HTML is supported.
  3. Insert merge tags such as {{customer_first_name}}, {{shop_name}}, {{shop_domain}}, and {{manage_url}} where you want those values to appear.
  4. Use the Preview to see the email with sample data.
  5. Save. To stop sending an email, uncheck 'Send this email'.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I don't edit anything?

Every template keeps its default wording until you change it. Only the fields you edit are saved, and 'Reset to default' restores the original copy.

What is {{manage_url}}?

A secure, per-customer link to their subscription portal where they can change meals, delivery dates, or pause/cancel. Always include it in the welcome email so customers can manage their subscription.

Which emails can I edit?

The customer welcome email, sent when a subscription is created, and the upcoming order reminder, sent a few days before each renewal. More templates will be added here over time.

What is the upcoming order reminder?

An email sent to a subscriber a few days before their next order, listing the meals it will contain and linking them to change the selection before it is charged. It is off until you turn it on, requires the Growth plan, and you choose how many days ahead it goes out (2 by default, counted back from the order date). Changing the timing applies to orders scheduled from then on, not ones already in the queue.

What does the reminder show if the customer hasn't chosen their meals?

If you use slot-based auto-assignment, or an evergreen menu, the reminder shows the meals the customer is going to get — the same choice the app would make for them at order time. It is a preview, not a commitment: if you change that week's menu before the order runs, the final box follows the new menu. If there is nothing to predict, the email says the box hasn't been chosen yet and links the customer to pick, which is exactly the customer you most want to reach.
