A subscriptions list you can act on

August 21, 2026

The subscriptions list had five columns, two of them raw ids, and nothing that distinguished a subscription in trouble from a healthy one — a subscription whose charge had failed looked like one with no next order at all.

What changed

The customer's name — falling back to their email — replaces the raw customer id, and a Plan column shows what each subscriber is on. The subscription number stays as the first column and the row's link, because it is the number the customer reads out to support: it is what the customer portal and the subscription page both show.

Subscriptions whose charge has failed stay in the list with a critical badge instead of disappearing. A cycle that ran out of retries is still chargeable, so it is still the next order — it used to vanish and leave an empty dash where the overdue order should be.

Status is a coloured badge rather than lowercase text.

Why it matters

The list is where you triage, and a customer id is not something you can triage on. Reading the subscriber and their plan straight off the row — and seeing at a glance which charges did not collect — is the difference between scanning the list and opening every row.

Whether a week's meals have been chosen is deliberately not a column here. That question belongs to a delivery date, and the date in this list is the charge date a week earlier, so the two would sit side by side describing different boxes. It lives on the subscription's own timeline instead, next to the delivery it is about.

Where to see it

Open Subscriptions. The new columns and badges are already in place.
