The subscription page, rebuilt around deliveries

August 28, 2026

The subscription detail page is the screen you open when a customer emails. It showed a row of dated buttons for choosing a week's menu and threw away everything else it knew about that week — whether it had been paid, skipped or never charged, and where the Shopify order was. The page is now built on the delivery axis.

What changed

The week picker is a timeline. Each row says what happened to that week: Paid, with the Shopify order number linked into admin, the amount and the fulfillment status; Skipped; Scheduled, with how long the customer still has to choose; or Failed, with the reason. Rows expand in place, so comparing weeks does not mean losing the list.

The one divider on the timeline marks your cutoff, not today — the cutoff is the line that decides what can still be changed. Shops with no cutoff configured see no divider.

The next delivery is its own card at the top of the main column instead of the fifth row of a sidebar: the delivery date and the charge date each labelled, the cutoff, the meal count, and Edit meals and Skip. It expands to the full menu, so checking a box no longer means opening the edit modal to look. A subscription with no pending delivery says so plainly, which is the state where renewals have quietly stopped.

Order history moved onto the timeline, where each paid week already carries its order. The Plan card is now about one subject — status, size, Change, Cancel — and no longer shows a Last Order date that disagreed with the timeline's date for the same order.

One alert sits above the fold and resolves to the most urgent case that applies, or renders nothing: a charge that did not collect and will not retry on its own; a cutoff that has already passed on an empty week, naming skipping as the one lever left; a cutoff approaching within 48 hours on an empty week, saying whether auto-assign will fill it or the renewal will be charged with nothing selected; cancelled; migrated.

Why it matters

A subscription has three clocks — when it is charged, when it delivers, when its menu locks — and the old layout mixed them. One order could show two different dates in two places with neither labelled, which reads as two orders or as a bug.

The states worth acting on were visible only by reading down the page and knowing what to look for. A box that is empty a day before its cutoff looked exactly like a healthy one.

Where to see it

Open any customer in Subscriptions. The timeline, the promoted next delivery and the alerts are already in place.
