One-time or subscription, inside guided start

Shops that sell both ways had to run two customer journeys from two entry points. Guided start can now ask the question itself: both answers continue into the same menu, and only checkout differs.

What it is

An optional first step in the guided start wizard asking whether the customer wants a one-time box or a subscription, with copy you write. Both answers lead into the same menu; a one-time order simply checks out without a selling plan, subscribe-and-save or welcome offer, exactly as the product-page one-time path already does.

The price banner follows the answer as the customer changes it, so what they are quoted always matches what they are buying.

Why it matters

Two entry points means two links to maintain, two places to get the merchandising right, and a customer who picked the wrong one having to start over. One entry point that asks the question is simpler for both sides.

How to use it

Open Guided start and turn on "Ask customers how they want to order", under Purchase options step, then edit its copy. The step appears only when the meal plan's own Purchase options are set to sell both ways — if the plan sells one way only, the settings say so and the step stays off. Existing guided start shops are unchanged until you enable it.

This works alongside the product-page purchase options block rather than replacing it: use the block for customers who land on your product page, and the guided step when you send them straight to the menu at /apps/menus. Both can be on.
