Paid add-ons in the customer account
September 1, 2026
The customer account extension could display paid add-on sections but refused to let customers change them, showing a banner that said so. It now accepts them, and the extra is priced onto the renewal exactly as it is from the storefront.
What changed
Sections that are priced separately from the plan — extras, treats, upgrades — are editable in the customer account, not just visible there. The charge already knew how to price them; only the account page was turning the edit away.
A customer who adds one paid extra is no longer forced to finish choosing their main meals before they can save. Sections included in the plan price still have to be completed once started, because those are meals already paid for; separately priced ones are optional by construction. This matches how the storefront portal has always behaved.
A maximum you set on a paid section is still enforced. Leaving the cap unset means unlimited, which is the ordinary add-on shape.
Why it matters
Add-ons are the simplest upsell a meal subscription has, and the customer account is where a signed-in subscriber goes first. Refusing the change there sent them to a separate portal link or to support to buy something they were already trying to pay for.
How to use it
Nothing to configure. If your menu has paid add-on sections and the Servd customer account extension is published on your store, customers can add them from their subscription page for any open delivery.
